DAVID ARINZE'S SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT AT THE GLOBAL CLEAN ENERGY ACTION FORUM IN USA
(David Arinze stands with his Host Jennifer Graholm, United States Secretary of Energy, Department of Energy)
Earlier this month, I was specially invited by the Secretary of the United States Department of Energy, Jennifer Granholm as a global youth representative and a panel speaker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the Global Clean Energy Action Forum GCEAF . I had the pleasure of meeting and discussing with the phenomenal disruptor: Bill Gates Founder of Break Through Energy. During our conversation, he alluded to the fact that addressing the current global energy access challenges is important and in a bid to solve this challenge, financing relevant innovative solutions that address this challenge cannot be overemphasized.
Our meeting created an opportunity to share my work at Diamond Development Initiatives and how we consistently make our contributions towards building a society that provides equitable opportunity for clean energy solutions, agricultural empowerment and entrepreneurial support through blended financing thereby strengthening the actualization of a more sustainable livelihood for all.
At the heart of solving this global challenge is the strength and resilience of the youth through the emergence of groundbreaking innovations. As energy access remains an enabler, we would continue to add our quota towards the fruition of SDG7.
Grateful for moments such as this which further crystalises both the impact of the work we do and more importantly, the need to do much more. Thankful for such moments
Participation in these engagements provided an opportunity to speak as a panellist, share insights about our work and connect with notable personalities who are adding their quota towards a global just and inclusive energy transition. These personalities include Bill Gates, Founder of Breakthrough Energy | John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Change | Jennifer Granholm, US Secretary of Energy | Enoh T. Ebong, Director of US Trade & Development Agency | Francesco Lacamara, DG International Renewable Energy Agency among others.
Thank you for the invitation
